Assam Public Works (APW) filed writ petition 

The Supreme Court on Wednesday registered the writ petition filed by the Assam Public Works (APW) against the Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project (SLHEP) on July 25. In the writ petition, APW appealed to the apex court to issue an order or direction to NHPC Ltd. for releasing the minimum sustenance flow natural water of 450cu3m/sec from the SLHEP dam all through the year for ecological sustenance of the river which will keep the river ecologically healthy specially in the 4-5 months of lean period of the winter. The APW has urged the Supreme Court to intervene in this issue and pass the necessary orders.
